SHOW CHOIR PRESENTS SPRING SUPER SHOW,
"A ROCK AND ROLL SPECTACULAR"
Area music lovers
will have two opportunities in May to enjoy a little bit of rock n
roll heaven from the Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Community Show
Choir. The choirs Spring Super Show: A Rock & Roll Spectacular
will feature selected rock n roll hits such as Old Time
Rock and Roll, Unchained Melody and Under the
Boardwalk.
On Sunday, May
2, the Show Choir will be joined by the MATC Swing Choir and the combined
college choirs from MATC and UWRock County (of Janesville) for a
2 pm performance. An additional show on Friday, May 7, at 7:30 pm, will
feature the MATC Show Choir along with various solos and madrigal groups
from the choir.
Both shows will
be held in the Mitby Theater, MATCTruax, 3550 Anderson St. Tickets
are $5 for adults, $4 for children under 12, students and seniors, and
are available at the Mitby Theater Box Office or by calling (608) 243-4000.

the Love Tonight, Y.M.C.A, Kokomo, Hot,
Hot, Hot and other popular favorites from all the great decades
of rock n roll history.
Founded in 1980,
the MATC Community Show Choir presents concerts of popular music in the
fall and spring of each year. A volunteer organization open to all who
love to sing, the choir has performed at New Yorks Lincoln Center
as part of Irving Berlins 100th birthday concert and for Pope John
Paul while on a tour of Italy and Poland. Regionally, the choir performed
in the Wisconsin Capitol Building and for the opening of the Monona Terrace
Convention Center in Madison and at the Wisconsin State Fair in Milwaukee.
MATC is one of the largest of the Wisconsin Technical College System's
16 colleges and serves about 50,000 individuals each year. It provides
a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts and science, adult
basic education and life enrichment studies and activities, as well as
customized employee training. MATC provides training in more than 100
career programs. The college serves all or parts of 12 counties located
in south-central Wisconsin and offers instruction through five
campuses and various other locations throughout the district.
