MATC COMMUNITY SHOW CHOIR PRESENTS SPRING SUPER SHOW,
"A ROCK AND ROLL SPECTACULAR"

Area music lovers will have two opportunities in May to enjoy a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll heaven from the Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Community Show Choir. The choir’s Spring Super Show: “A Rock & Roll Spectacular” will feature selected rock ‘n’ roll hits such as “Old Time Rock and Roll,” “Unchained Melody” and “Under the Boardwalk.”

On Sunday, May 2, the Show Choir will be joined by the MATC Swing Choir and the combined college choirs from MATC and UW–Rock County (of Janesville) for a 2 pm performance. An additional show on Friday, May 7, at 7:30 pm, will feature the MATC Show Choir along with various solos and madrigal groups from the choir.

Both shows will be held in the Mitby Theater, MATC–Truax, 3550 Anderson St. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for children under 12, students and seniors, and are available at the Mitby Theater Box Office or by calling (608) 243-4000. For additional information, call James Langkamp at (608) 243-4325.

Additional selections for the show include “That Lonesome Road,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” Y.M.C.A,” “Kokomo,” “Hot, Hot, Hot” and other popular favorites from all the great decades of rock ‘n’ roll history.

Founded in 1980, the MATC Community Show Choir presents concerts of popular music in the fall and spring of each year. A volunteer organization open to all who love to sing, the choir has performed at New York’s Lincoln Center as part of Irving Berlin’s 100th birthday concert and for Pope John Paul while on a tour of Italy and Poland. Regionally, the choir performed in the Wisconsin Capitol Building and for the opening of the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison and at the Wisconsin State Fair in Milwaukee.
