Four Area Students Receive
MATC Bassett Foundation Scholarships

Four area students have received Bassett Foundation Scholarships from Madison Area Technical College (MATC) for this fall. The MATC scholarships are made possible through a donation from the Norman Bassett Foundation.

Recipients receive $600 per semester for two consecutive semesters—a total of $1,200. The scholarships are awarded to high school (or equivalent) graduates and are based on academic achievement and recommendations. Students applying for the scholarships must enroll as a full-time student, maintain a 3.0 grade point average and meet with an advisor in the Academic and Career Resources Center during the spring semester.

MATC awarded scholarships to Matt Buchholz of Montello; Britney Rezin of Tomah, Carley Richard of Black Earth; and Stephanie Zeddies of Oshkosh.

MATC is one of the largest of the Wisconsin Technical College System’s 16 colleges and serves approximately 50,000 individuals annually. It provides a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts and science, adult basic education and life enrichment studies and activities, as well as customized employee training. MATC provides training in more than 100 career programs. It awards associate degrees, vocational diplomas and certificates, and offers non-degree courses. The college serves all or parts of 12 counties located in south-central Wisconsin and offers instruction through five campuses and various other locations throughout the district.
