International Leadership Program

MATC Faculty Member to Participate in
International Leadership Program

Lynn Bartoszek, lead instructor for the Alternative Learning Division at Madison Area Technical College [MATC] and a Madison resident, will participate in the National Institute for Leadership Development LEADERS program, an international program for administrators and faculty in higher education.

The year-long LEADERS program is designed to enhance skills participants need to assume major decision-making roles in their institutions, including institutional practice in supervisory and human relations skills, planning and budgeting, and organizational transformation. National experts will join participants to discuss issues confronting higher education during the next decade.

LEADERS participants are chosen for their professional abilities, interests in advancement of higher education and the quality of their proposed projects. Bartoszek’s project will involve facilitation of MATC departmental efforts to provided adequate educational experiences for under-prepared students. Bartoszek has taught adult basic education skills at MATC for 17 years. She has a BA from Michigan State University and has done graduate studies at Cardinal Stritch College and the University of Wisconsin.

The National Institute for Leadership Development is internationally recognized by colleges, universities and businesses for its visionary, holistic programs designed to produce “leaders who effectively challenge assumptions, eliminate barriers and create new pathways to successful solutions.”

MATC is one of the largest of the Wisconsin Technical College System’s 16 colleges and serves about 50,000 students each year. It provides a comprehensive curriculum of technical, business, liberal arts and science, adult basic education and life enrichment studies and activities, as well as customized employee training. MATC provides training in more than 100 career programs. It awards associate degrees, vocational diplomas and certificates, and offers non-degree courses. The college serves all or parts of 12 counties located in south-central Wisconsin and offers instruction through five campuses and various other locations throughout the district.
