Cultural Festival Sponsored by MATC Global Horizons Series
WHAT:
MATC Global Horizons Series Japanese Cultural Festival
Designed to highlight
aspects of contemporary Japanese culture and society, the event will include
workshops, performances and film showings throughout the day. All activities
are free and open to the public.
The event will
feature interactive workshops in which participants can learn about Japanese
cultural arts and traditions including bonsai miniature tree sculpting,
Ikebana flower arrangement, Japanese calligraphy and origami. Performances
include Japanese music, martial arts demonstrations, a traditional Japanese
tea ceremony, children’s activities and family-friendly animation
screenings from the Japanese Film Festival.
