MATC AND CISCO NETWORKING ACADEMY CELEBRATE 10-YEAR PARTNERSHIP
Ten years ago, Madison Area Technical College was the first college in Wisconsin to become a Cisco Networking Academy. Since then, 261 MATC students have graduated from the Cisco program. see press release

"LIFE DURING WARTIME" AIMS TO INVIGORATE HISTORY INSTRUCTION IN WISCONSIN
MATC is one of a group of education partners involved in a $940,000 Teaching American History grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant funds a proposal titled “Life During Wartime” that will develop content and mentoring services for fifth- through twelfth-grade teachers. The goal of the project is to improve students’ knowledge of American history by improving teachers’ knowledge of the subject. see press release

MATC TO DEDICATE SOLAR-POWERED TRANSIT SHELTER
State Rep. Spencer Black to Speak at Event
Whether it’s raining, snowing, or just plain nasty outside, students at Madison Area Technical College now have a unique shelter from the storm—and it’s powered by sunshine. On Friday, April 18, at 1:30 p.m., MATC will dedicate its new solar-powered transit shelter. The shelter is located adjacent to the administration building parking lot at MATC’s Truax campus. see press release

MATC COOKING UP EVENING OF GOOD TASTE
Seared Maine diver scallops. Pesto rubbed lamb lollipop chops. Morel mushrooms stuffed with veal mousseline. Are you hungry yet? On Saturday, April 19, at 6 p.m., Madison Area Technical College culinary and pastry arts students will host their fourth annual "Evening of Good Taste" fundraiser in the Truax campus cafeteria. see press release

MATC TO OPEN NEW MULTICULTURAL CENTER
Mayor Cieslewicz to be at Celebration
Local entrepreneurs will soon have a new place to get business advice and guidance. On Saturday, April 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Madison Area Technical College will hold an open house to celebrate its new Multicultural Business Resource Center at 2300 S. Park St. in Madison’s Villager Mall. see press release

GROUNDBREAKING SET AT MATC'S FORT ATKINSON CAMPUS
Madison Area Technical College’s Fort Atkinson campus is growing. At 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, school officials and local dignitaries will celebrate the groundbreaking of the campus' $2.35 million expansion project. see press release

Two students will win $1,000 scholarships
Financial aid is something almost every college student needs, but filling out all those forms can be a big headache. To help students and their families get through the financial aid maze, Madison Area Technical College is holding financial aid awareness events at six of its campuses, April 7-10. see press release
