Search for a Class

You can learn about entire programs of study, search for a specific class, or connect to additional educational offerings such as College Preparedness and Academic Advancement, distance learning and international studies.

Determine Your Student Status

To know when you can register at MATC, you will need to determine your studet status. Status is based on whether you are attending MATC for the first time or are a continuing student as well as other factors such as your class load (full- or part-time).

Choose Your Method of Registration

There are four ways to register for classes at MATC. Use the method that's easiest for you! Choose to register online, use our automated touchtone, phone in to a registration operator or schedule a personal visit.

STEP 1: Search for Classes

  • Programs of study

MATC offers several programs of study, all of which lead to a degree, diploma or certificate. You can search the programs to get all the information you need about the courses required to complete the program.

  • Course Search

Whether you are looking for a credit course to complete that associates degree program, or a non-degree enrichment class to enhance your skillset, you will find all the information you need about dates, times, locations and instructors. There are several search engines at work on the MATC site to help you find specific classes:

STEP 2: Determine your student status

  • If you are a first-time student (never taken a class at MATC):

1. You must have a record entered into our database. To do this, call MATC registration operators Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., or Friday, 12-3:30pm.

If you wish to call outside of operator assistance hours, you can call the Enrollment Center at (608) 246-6210 from 8am-6pm Mon.-Thurs., 8am-4:30pm Fri. (Note: These times change at various times of the year.)

2. Once that record is created, you may register for the class(es) by using one of the four methods below.

  • If you are an undeclared full- or part-time student (not enrolled in a program)
    OR
    If you are enrolled in a certificate program:

1. You will be able to register during the Open Registration period.

2. Please have the five-digit class number available for registration. If you need to search for that class number, please visit the Search for Classes link on Inside MATC.

3. You can register using one of the four methods below.

  • If you are enrolled in a program and are continuing from a previous term:

1. You will be given a specific day and time that you can register for classes, which is before Open Registration. You can access your date/time by logging in to Inside MATC and clicking on “Enrollment Dates,” or by calling the Enrollment Center at 246-6210.

2. Please have the five-digit class number available for registration. If you need to search for that class number, please visit the "Search for Classes" link on Inside MATC.

3. You can register using one of the four methods below.

Step 3: Choose your method of registration

1. Register Online (preferred)

1. Go to Inside MATC and log in using your User ID and password.
Note: If you are a first-time student, contact the Enrollment Center to be entered into the MATC database. Then you can activate your account using the “Student First Time Login” on Inside MATC. Once your account is activated, you will be able to enroll in classes, view grades, pay for classes, and access other services.

Note: If you are a returning student that has never used Inside MATC, you will need to set up a login and password (which is not the same as your e-mail/Blackboard account). If you have an Inside MATC account but have forgotten your password, you can reset it using the "Initial Login/Reset Password" link.

2. Visit the Student Center to see your date to register (for students enrolled in a program) or to Add/Drop A Class during open registration (for first-time students and undeclared or certificate students).

2. Touchtone Registration

Call (608) 246-6220 or toll free at (800) 628-6282. Touchtone registration is available 24 hours a day.

Note: The system requires the use of a PIN to access your account. If you do not know your PIN, please call the Enrollment Center at (608) 246-6210.
Note: Please have the five-digit class number available for registration. If you need to search for that class number, please visit the Search for Classes link on Inside MATC.

3. Phone-in Registration

Call the Enrollment Center to speak with an MATC registration operator. They can be reached Monday-Thursday, 2 p.m.- 5 p.m. and Friday Noon – 3 p.m.
