Assessment/Placement Tests
Students planning to take Math, Writing, Intro to Psychology (Course #809-231), History (803-2XX), Survey of Astronomy (806-243), General Chemistry (806-134) and Nursing Assistant (543-300) will
be required to take a placement test (COMPASS or ASSET)
prior to registration. (See the current course
schedule for specific details.)
COMPASS (Computer-Adaptive
Placement Assessment and Support System)
This is an untimed test which is taken
on a computer. The purpose of this test is to assess the student's
current academic skills. The test results are used for advising purposes
to help students register for the appropriate level courses. Testing is available at the Commercial Avenue Education Center; no appointments
are necessary. Please see the testing schedules. If you have questions regarding the test, please call

GED/HSED Testing
Receiving your GED/HSED involves attending two in-depth orientation sessions, where students are assessed on their math and reading skills as well as discussing their employability and career assessment. After orientation is complete, students can take the GED/HSED test, which is offered at the Commercial Avenue Education Center.
