International Students

MATC can provide an I-20 for students seeking a student visa to attend MATC.  International students under Section 38.14 of the Wisconsin statutes are considered nonresidents, out-of-state, for tuition and enrollment purposes.  Regulations and laws under the jurisdiction of Immigration and Naturalization Service (U.S. Department of Justice) are followed.  Enrollment of international students (student visa required) at MATC is based upon the following:

  • Completed International Student Application form. (Download application (PDF, 186 KB))
  • $30 application processing fee.
  • Have a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version), 80 (internet version) or better on file.
  • Submit official copies of high school and post-high school transcripts (if applicable) translated into English.
  • Only 2-year degree programs without waiting lists are available to International Students.  The list of available programs is included with the International Student Application.
  • Have a US citizen who is also an MATC district resident serve as a sponsor.
  • After acceptance, deposit $7,000 in U.S. dollars to be used for tuition purposes only; upon receipt, an I-20 will be issued.
  • Enrolled full time (12 credits or more).
  • Applications for the Fall semester must be submitted to the Enrollment Center by May 1. Applications for the Spring semester must be submitted to the Enrollment Center by September 1.
