RE: REMINDER - CHANGES TO GROUPWISE
DATE: WEDNESDAY 06/21/06
There is a change that we are implementing starting June 22. Each evening, we will automatically delete any items in a GroupWise Trash folder, before we create the scheduled backup. In the future, please do not use the GroupWise Trash folder as temporary storage. Please consider it the same as you would the (real) wastebasket near your desk. Once you put something in there, it will be gone the next morning. And there is no way to retrieve items deleted from the Groupwise Trash.
If you need a folder to store documents for a short period of time, please create a separate folder for that purpose. If you would like assistance in creating an additional Group Wise folder in your Group Wise account, please contact the Help Desk at x6666 for assistance. We will be also covering this topic during TechAcademy presentations.
This change will help minimize the amount of disk space which is consumed in storing email messages. We will be keeping backups a bit longer, to protect the integrity of the information that is on the backup. If you would like additional information on this change, please feel free to contact me by telephone at 6112, or email me at jhuber@matcmadison.edu.
In closing, I would like to express my appreciation to both the Faculty and PSRP unions for their cooperation in insuring that this change adheres to both the letter and intent of the respective contracts.
All the Best!
