What is MAAP? Why implement MAAP? How to Implement MAAP for a Course.
MAAP is the acronym commonly used at MATC for our Mandatory Assessment, Advising and Placement policy. MAAP is an integrated process involving the following:
- Mandatory assessment: Students enrolling in an identified, entry-level course will have an assessment (COMPASS test) of the basic skills necessary to be successful in that course.
- Mandatory advising: Students enrolling in an identified, entry-level course will receive advising regarding their assessment results and
appropriate placement.
- Mandatory placement: Students enrolling in an identified, entry-level course will be placed into the course for which they are academically
prepared.
