CISCO IP/TV
Educational Technology and
Learning Applications Department, formerly Instructional Media Services,
now has the opportunity to deliver video to your computer via the MATC
network. IP/TV, a product from CISCO,
allows us to capture videos into a viewer that you can access from your
computer at MATC. This new system will enhance our internal communications,
and provide an opportunity to get to know one another and find out about
many of the exciting things happening at our college.
How to get the viewer
Make a request through
theTechnology Services Help Desk at (608) 246-6666.
How to use the viewer
Double click on the viewer icon to run the "CISCO IP/TV Viewer"
program. After the program loads you will see two choices on the left
side of the program window. Click on the choice labeled "OnDemand
Videos." After you click on "OnDemand Videos," video choices
will appear on the right side of the window. Simply double click on the
video you wish to view and a new window will open to display the video.
The usual controls are available to play, pause, fast forward etc. Make
sure that the sound system on your computer is working so you can hear
the audio portion of the video. If you have problems be sure to contact
the DoETS Help Desk.
There is a limit to the
number of people simultaneously watching video on the IP/TV system. If
you try viewing the video and get an error message about capacity being
exceeded, simply try again later.
