Global & Cultural Perspectives
Students are developing global and cultural perspectives when they:
4.1 Exhibit knowledge of basic global literacy including: geography, history, and similarities and differences among cultures.
4.2 Express sensitivity towards and respect for the complex range of experiences of diverse peoples including ethnicity, gender, social class, religion, nationality and age.
4.3 Recognize the interdependence of societies with world economies, political systems and the environment.
Whatever our work we will encounter people with diverse backgrounds. Reading works of literature written from a variety of cultural perspectives can lead to a better understanding and appreciation of the people around us. |
