WilsonWeb persistent URLs

A persistent link can be created to a particular article in WilsonWeb databases. Anyone who uses a durable or persistent link must have access to the database from which the URL came. Therefore, off campus users must be authenticated as part of MATC through EZproxy. Off campus users who click on a MATC Ezproxy persistent link will be prompted to enter their username and password.

To create a Wilson persistent link (durable url) which will allow off-campus access through EZproxy:

1. Login to WilsonWeb. Select the database(s) at the top of the screen.
2. Locate an article or publication of interest.
3. Click on the title of an article. The article citation will display which may include the persistent URLs. The Print-Email-Save button may also be used to view persistent links.
4. Choose "Click to Copy" the persistent link. A new window will open with the link displayed.. You may need to enable popups for this site. Select and copy the entire persistent link.
5. If the MATC EZproxy prefix http://ezproxy.matcmadison.edu/login?url= is not already included at the start of the persistent link, use the MATC EZproxy URL Creator to append the prefix to the peristent link.
6. Paste the entire persistent link with the MATC EZproxy prefix into your document, Blackboard, webpage, or email.
7. Test the link.
