Population Reference Bureau

Provides statistical data on fourteen demographic characteristics. Includes both the 2000 Census and the Census Bureau's monthly Current population surveys. Updated as data is released.

Academic Search Elite
Wide range of academic areas including business, social sciences, humanities, general academic, general science, education and multi-cultural. This comprehensive database features full text for over 1,200 journals with many dating back to 1990, abstracts and indexing for over 3,000 scholarly journals, and coverage of The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times (limited to indexing) and The Christian Science Monitor. It also includes coverage of over 1,700 peer-reviewed journals.

CQ Researcher
Indepth analysis of policy, economic and political issue. Fulltext of articles back to 1983. Great resource because the each issue is discussed from various aspects or approaches.

Expanded Academic ASAP
From arts and the humanities to social sciences, science and technology, this database meets research needs across all academic disciplines for anyone needing fulltext and indexed peer-reviewed articles.

General Reference Center Gold
Use this general interest/business database to search magazines, newspapers, and reference books for information on business, industry, current events, the arts, science, entertainment, etc.

JSTOR: Journal Storage Project
A full-text database of more than 100 journals in the fields of African-American studies, anthropology, Asian studies, ecology, economics, education, finance, history, literature, mathematics, philosophy, political science, population/demography, sociology, and statistics. Coverage begins with volume one of each title and usually continues through the early 1990s. Eight journals have 100 or more years of coverage; 35 journals have 50 or more years of coverage. Graphs, photographs, and other images are included.

Online Newspapers
Selected Wisconsin newspapers including the Wisconsin State Journal and The Capital Times, plus The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune and other national newspapers. If prompted for an ID and Password use: IPAUTO.

Statistical Universe
Statistical Universe contains abstracting and indexing data for more than 5,000 federal statistical publications per year from 1973 to the present contained in ASI (American Statistics Index). Statistical Universe also contains the full text of more than 800 U.S. government statistical publications from 1995 to 1997, including the Statistical Abstract of the United States. Starting in 1998, monthly updates add up to 650 full-text statistical publications each year. In addition there are many links to full-text documents on government Web sites (verified daily). Information and tables are frequently available in a variety of formats, including GIF, XLS, CSV, and PDF. Starting in August 2000, indexing will include table-level indexing.
