MATC Libraries Online Catalog - Webcat provides access to books, magazines, Reserve material, audio-visual material (for example, videos), and web resources Search by subject or keyword. Most European History books will be located in the 900's. Sample subject headings: Renaissance, Civilization, Medieval, Europe History 15th Century, France History, 17th Century England.

Reference books may also be useful for biographical sketches or background information about a topic. For example:

Academic Universe
Large database with news, business, reference, country profiles, almanacs etc.

Humanities Full-text
Indexes 400 English language periodicals in archaeology and classical studies, art, film, folklore, history, journalism, linguistics, literature, music, performing arts, philosophy, religion, and theology.

JSTOR
Full text, digitized articles from more than 100 journals including scholarly and academic history journal collection. Titles included as far back as late 1800s up to prior to past 2-7 years.

Proquest Historical Newspapers
Chicago Defender (1921-1975) Chicago Tribune (1849-1985), New York Times(1851 – three years prior to present year )
Full page images of the Chicago Defender , Chicago Tribune, New York Times. Complete with illustrations, advertisements, obituaries, etc. as they appeared in the newspaper at that time.

Proquest Online Newspapers
Includes several European newspapers such as BBC Monitoring, The Times(London), Daily Record(Glasgow), and European Report (Brussels). Most are full text from the later 1990's to the present.
