"Voting Paradoxes"
Abstract: Are voting systems fair? Do they really reflect the will of the people? In this hour we will investigate some of the difficulties that arise when we choose methods for allowing people to cast their votes.
Biography: Susan Hollingsworth is a professor of mathematics at Edgewood College, where she has been teaching for two years. She particularly enjoys playing with graphs, matrices, and the interconnections therebetween.
