Internet Monitors

    New for Fall 2011 semester: Three of our multimedia group study rooms in the Truax Library have new large screen Sony monitors which also have internet access. Students working on multimedia assignments or groups working collaboratively will find this new technology very useful. Students can either: monitor

    Connect a library laptop to the large monitor display:

    For example, a group of students working on a multimedia powerpoint presentation.

    Reserve the room and check out a cable and library laptop at the circulation desk in the Truax Library.  

    or

    Access the internet using the Sony internet TV/monitor itself:

    For example, a group of students watching a Films on Demand video or viewing a web site.

    keypad photoUse the keypad to navigate which can be checked out from the circulation desk. The keypad looks like a game controller and has a small keyboard. For more information, view How to use the keypad youtube video or the Sony online help guide for keypad controls.

    Students using the rooms and/or equipment must read and sign a usage agreement form (PDF, 88 KB) and follow library multimedia usage policies.

    Drop-in assistance is generally not available. Students must also schedule an appointment in advance if they want assistance with getting started using the library equipment. This is a separate process from reserving the room or equipment.
