    Program Overview

    This semester-long program, which is administered by College of Lake County in Illinois, allows students to immerse themselves in Chinese language and culture. Students will have the opportunity to live and study alongside Chinese and other international students.

    Course Information

    Students will earn 12-15 credits during this study abroad program. All study abroad participants are required to take “History of Chinese Culture and Society” (3 credits) and “Chinese Literature and Art” (3 credits). Students then choose two courses taught in English from a pre-approved list. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to take Chinese coursework.

    Additional Information

    In order to participate in this program, participants are required to be College of Lake County students. If you wish to maintain your financial aid through Madison College, additional steps are required and you must enroll in a 1-credit course at Madison College. Please contact the StudyAbroad[at] matcmadison [dot] edu (Center for International Education) for additional information.

    The application deadline is October 15. All materials, including the initial deposit of $500 (made payable to College of Lake County), must be received by 4:00 p.m. in the Madison College Center for International Education. (NOTE: Unless an applicant is rejected, the $500 deposit is non-refundable.)
