Systems Integration Councils
The Systems Integration Councils aim to integrate college systems and processes that touch upon student learning. Built on a shared-governance structure, the Councils:
- Focus on student learning and learning college principles while simultaneously supporting incremental and innovative change
- Build collaborative, cross functional, cross-discipline relationships
- Build external collaboration with partners
- Integrate services to support the learner in a holistic way
- Support the expectation of staff learning, fostering innovation and creativity
- Support cycle of adaptive change
- Facilitate delivery of programs and services aligned with, and relevant to, the changing marketplace
- Facilitate and support the use of multiple delivery strategies to reach current and emerging student markets
Over 80 of your colleagues are members of these Councils. They come from full-time and part-time faculty, support staff (PSRP) and administration and represent the three functional areas of the college - Infrastructure Services, Learner Success and Strategic Advancement. Faculty and PSRP appointments are made through their respective union leadership. Contact your union president if you are interested in joining the Councils.
Comprised of six councils, each group is led by a team of co-chairs. To maximize efficiency and ensure work coordination exists when necessary, the co-chairs, the vice presidents from Infrastructure Services and Strategic Advancement and the leadership team from Learner Success (Vice President and Associate Vice Presidents), provide overall leadership for these groups as the Council of the Chairs.
At the start of each academic year, the Systems Integration Councils come together to report on the previous year's activities and provide work plans to kick off the new academic year. This year's kick off meeting was held on Friday, August 21, 2009 where Becky Baumbach presented information on CQI tools available to the councils to complete their workplans.
Meeting materials and further information can be found on Blackboard > Learner Success > Systems Integration Councils.
The Councils are:
- Academic Policy, Planning, and Implementation (APPI)
- Economic Workforce Development (EWD)
- Learner Preparedness & Success (LPS)
- Life Long Learning (LLL)
- Madison College Alliance for Environmental Sustainability (MESA)
- Learner Success Technology (LS TECH)
The Systems Integration Council for Professional Development (PD) was retired at the end of the fall 2008 semester.
