Mission & Pledge
MISSION:
To support the Madison College mission of “leader in learning," the Department of Financial Resources provides innovative and consultative leadership to the district in directing its resources to ensure accessible, quality education to students, and to keep the college economically strong, flexible, and competitive in a changing global marketplace.
The role of Financial Resources is to support and consult with other internal departments as they directly carry out this mission, or other departments that also serve in a support function for those departments that directly provide instruction. This mission should not be confused with being subservient to the demands of the other departments, as Financial Resources believes in working in a consultative role to assist in the overall mission of the college. Financial Resources does have the direct responsibility for providing long-term financial direction and provision of certain auxiliary services.
Financial Resources has determined the following overall goals to best attain the departments mission:
• Enhance the financial vitality of the district
• Ensure compliance with necessary laws, regulations, statutes, policies and procedures
• Provide consultation to assist departments in obtaining the mission of the district
• Provide ongoing financial and auxiliary services in an efficient manner
• Provide services in a least-restrictive, user-friendly environment
• Excel at customer service
• Promote responsible resource utilization and asset management
• Efficiently produce financial information
