    How To Use The Madison Area Technical College Budget Document

    Every effort has been made to make this document easy to read. Even so, we understand that complex documents are hard to navigate. The information below will help you find what you are looking for in the Current Year Budget Document.

     

    Organization of the Madison Area Technical College Budget Document

    The Madison Area Technical College District Annual Budget Plan is divided into seven major sections:

    Introduction - This section contains the letter from the President, district economic condition and legislative climate.

    Organizational - This section contains Madison Area Technical College district maps of locations, information about the organization, services of the district, mission and vision, district performance measures and the legal description of the district.

    Policy - This section contains Madison Area Technical College's policies, external regulations and detail regarding the budget development and planning process.

    Financial -  This section contains the Notice of Public Hearing (the legally required public notice of the budget), information on revenue, expenditures and required financial statements on a budgetary basis.

    Operational - This section contains organizational charts, goals, budgetary information and FTE position information for divisions of the College. 

    Informational - This section lists the College's program offerings, Madison College highlights and information about the district, students and the community we serve.

    Glossary - This section provides definitions of specialized terms and Madison Area Technical College acronyms used throughout the Budget Document. 

     

    HOW TO UTILIZE THIS WEB DOCUMENT

    The Budget Document is an organized plan prepared each year based on statutory requirements established by the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). In addition to the WTCS budget document minimum and supplemental standards, additional criteria specified by the Government Finance Officers Associations (GFOA) is also incorporated into the Budget Document. This specific criteria identified by the GFOA is intended to expand an institutions budget document so that it is a communication devise that conveys policy, financial plans and operational guides. The Madison Area Technical College budget document has been presented with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada for over 10 years. The FY2011-12 Budget Document has been submitted for consideration for the award.  A key information locator is provided BELOW to assist in navigating the current year Budget Document.
