HSED/GED Information & Testing Schedule

You need to call Madison Area Technical College - Reedsburg Campus in ADVANCE to register to take tests (608) 524-7800. 

PRE-REGISTRATION FOR TESTING

There is no walk-in test-taking.  Before you will be able to take a test, you must pre-register with the Madison Area Technical College-Reedsburg campus office (524-7800).

You will tell the office staff the date you wish to test so that a space may be reserved for you.

ORIENTATIONS

Before you begin your series of tests, you need to schedule an orientation/reading assessment
session. Call the Madison Area Technical College-Reedsburg office (524-7800) for orientation information.

PREPARATION

To prepare to take any of the GED/HSED tests,you may come (free of charge) to any Adult Basic Education (ABE) Center to study with the help of the Madison Area Technical College staff.

TEST DAY REGISTRATION

When you come to take a test, please arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled test time. You will register at the front office before you begin testing. The following items should be brought with you:

1. A photo ID (a valid Wisconsin driver's license or an official Wisconsin ID available from driver's licensing centers)
    
2. $15 for each GED test; $5 each for Civics and Health
    
3. A one-time $15 processing fee required by DPI

Students must complete a self-directed career search component (SDS). Please contact the Madison Area Technical College-Reedsburg office for an appointment.

EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS REQUIREMENT

Before completing the HSED requirements, candidates must complete an Employability Skills workbook.
