Hot Jobs of the Future
You can make the most of your educational investment by choosing a career that’s predicted to be in hot demand when you graduate.
How do you find these careers?
Start with a report by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development that shows the “occupational outlook” through 2018.
You can also check out information from Wisconsin WORKnet, a labor market database, on high-demand jobs for the state including:
• occupations with the most job openings, and
• the top 25 occupations with the highest expected growth through 2016.
MATC provides education and training for more than half of these high-growth jobs in career areas such as information technology, health science and human services. Many of these fastest growing occupations are "middle skill jobs" which require more than a high school diploma but less than a four-year degree, which means you can complete your training and get out into the working world fast.
But even the hottest career won’t put you on the fast track to success if it’s not a good fit for you.
