    Classes and Instructional Support

If you would like to brush up on your academic skills before taking your GED or HSED tests, we offer some GED preparation classes in Writing, Reading and Math and also instructional support in our Learning Centers. You will need to attend both Workshop A and B for proper placement. Remember that classes are not required, but are offered tuition-free to help you prepare for, and pass, the tests for the GED & HSED. You can search a listing of Summer and Fall courses on the course listing page.

    How do I register?

New students must attend a 2-day Workshop. High School Completion Workshops A & B are held at our Downtown Education Center, 211 N Carroll St, Madison. At the Workshop you will:

    • Receive information on GED/HSED and Basic Skills classes offered through Madison College
    • Receive general information about Madison College and the different programs offered
    • Take the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education)
    • Obtain your test results and placement level
    • Register for classes

The Workshops are done in-person, by appointment only. Please call the School of Academic Advancement office at (608) 258-2440 to make an appointment on one of the dates listed below.
