
Foreign Language Retroactive Credits
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) awards retroactive credit for foreign language studied at the high school level. You are eligible to earn a maximum of four semesters (16 credits) of retroactive credit if you meet the following conditions:
- The language course must be your first college course in the language.
- You are enrolled in a second, third, fourth, or fifth level language course.
- You earn a grade of ‘B’ or better in the course.
NOTE:
Native speakers of the language may not earn retroactive credit. Your native language is defined as the language of instruction at your secondary school.
Retroactive credit is awarded for the course/s passed over.
No letter grade is given for retroactive credit.
