Make a Smooth Transition into Madison College
The First-Year Experience at Madison College is designed to assist new students in making a smooth transition to college life. As part of your first year at Madison College, we offer several classes, events and activities that provide you with information, preparation and connections to the college. So make sure you know about these opportunities and access those that will best help you as you begin your college journey.
- Mandatory Assessment, Advising and Placement: Make sure you complete the COMPASS test in math, English and reading so that you will be successful in your entry-level classes
- New Student Orientation: Come to orientation for assistance in choosing and registering for your first semester classes and learn about important policies of Madison College
- Wolfpack Welcome: Come to Wolfpack Welcome the week before classes and get yourself ready for your first week at Madison College
- College Success: Take a class that will help you develop skills you need to be successful in college
- Career Development: Take a class that will help you explore yourself and careers that will be a good fit for you
- Focused Interest Groups/Faculty Advising for Transfer U students: Take an entry-level class and work with a faculty advisor who will help you steer through the first semester of college
- Student Life: Check out the opportunities in Student Life and engage in the student life at Madison College
