Personal Security

It is recommended that the following precautions be taken:

1. Be sure to lock your vehicle when unattended.
2. When you arrive at work, place your personal items in a locked storage cabinet.. Personal items on floors, desks, book shelves are vulnerable targets for theft in a brief moment of inattention.
3. If you are working alone late at night in your office or work area, use discretion and keep your office or work area doors locked whenever possible. Lock up when you leave.
4. When you leave at night, try to arrange to walk out with someone. Be alert!

Facility Security

1. All MATC campuses and centers have electronic surveillance. This system detects people entering exiting the building when the building is closed. If a person enters or exits the building while under electronic surveillance, a security/ police officer will immediately respond to the area.
2. You are responsible for keys and access card assigned to you. Do not loan your keys or access card to anyone. Report loss of keys or access card to the Facilities OneCard Office- Truax, Room 118 or (608) 243-4219. Upon leaving MATC employment, return all keys and access card to the OneCard Office.
3. When you leave your office or work area, be sure that all doors are locked, or closed if they cannot be locked.
4. To report a breach of security in process (i.e., removal of property or vandalism) call the police at 9-911. Follow- up immediately with a call to the Facilities Security Office (608) 243-4357, or campus Administrator's Office.
5. To report a breach of security which has already happened report it to the Facilities Security Office. Note that all crimes must be reported to the Facilities Security Office- Truax as soon as is possible. It is necessary to complete an MATC Security Report and forward it to the Facilities Security Office at the Truax Campus (608) 243-4357
6. Immediately report any unusual occurrences to your supervisor, Campus Administrator's Office, or Facilities Security Office (608) 243-4357.
