What Why

General IAQ investigation parameters:

  • Carbon Dioxide
  • Temperature
  • Humidity
General IAQ investigation & evaluations.

Dust sampling:

  • Bulk wipe samples
  • Airborne samples
  1. Total concentration of dust in the air.
  2. Particulate Identification.

Mold sampling:

  • Bulk wipe samples
  • Airborne samples
Identify mold/fungus on surfaces or airborne concentrations.
Specific Compounds: To determine concentrations of a know chemical(s) being used or suspected of being in the environment:

Examples include:

  • formaldehyde in new furniture
  • formaldehyde or phenol in dissection of animals
  • ozone (electronic equipment use)
  • carbon monoxide (diesel/vehicle exhaust)
  • nitrogen dioxide (diesel/vehicle exhaust)
  • paint fumes/vapors
  • cleaning compounds
  • asbestos (for abatement and maintenance projects)
  • lead (firing arms testing and maintenance)
Total Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) Evaluation of air sample when no specific compound is known or suspected (such as in an odor complaint) or no known source of origin.
Sampling tools use include:
  • air sampling pump & media
  • single use colormetric tubes
  • passive dosimeters
  • real-time instrumentation
