Waste Recyling Information
Batteries (Auto)
Used or spent lead-acid batteries are considered “hazardous waste,” unless they are recycled. To recycle your used lead-acid batteries:
-
Take lead-acid batteries to the USED BATTERY storage area in West Court (east side of gate).
- Put batteries right side up on the pallet marked “Recycle Batteries.”
- To prevent spills, breakage, or discharge of batteries, keep batteries cool and upright.
- Do not throw or drop batteries.
- Wear safety glasses and protective gloves in case of breakage. The acid will burn eyes, skin and clothing.
- Report any damaged batteries immediately to the EH&S Office.
