Waste Recyling Information

Laboratory Glassware

ALL laboratory glassware, whether broken or unbroken, must be disposed of as broken glass.  (See BROKEN GLASS for disposal information.)  This applies to all glass laboratory items, including: containers, pipettes, tubing, glass slides and cover slips, etc.

Glassware that may be contaminated with infectious agents should first be autoclaved or chemically disinfected, and then disposed of as above.  Alternatively, contaminated glassware may be put into sharps containers without disinfecting.
