Ladder Safety

Did you know that more than 300 people in the U.S. die from ladder injuries sustained while on the job, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has estimated that more than 65,000 people go to the emergency room for treatment of ladder injuries.

To help prevent ladder injuries, follow these safety tips:

  • Always inspect the ladder before each use for any loose or damaged steps/rungs, spreaders, rung dogs, safety feet, etc.
  • Make sure to clear the area where you will be setting up your ladder.
  • Set your ladder on a sturdy surface. (Not on a table, truck, etc.)
  • Use the ladder with caution.
  • When done with the job, store the ladder in a safe, dry place.
