Mission Statement
The mission of the Madison Area Technical College Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department is to promote a safe and healthy campus environment, while supporting the college's ability to provide accessible, high quality learning experiences that serve the community.
What we do
To support this mission, the EHS Office is charged with the overall responsibility for planning, developing, implementing, and promoting environmental health and safety. These include, but are not limited to:
- Technical Support
- Incident Prevention and Investigation
- Chemical/Laboratory Safety
- Infection Control
- Hazardous Waste Management
- Environmental Protection
- Training
- Ergonomics
The EHS Offices hold a great responsibility in overseeing the environmental health and safety program; nonetheless, all district faculty, staff, and students are responsible for behaving in a manner that does not endanger the health and well-being of themselves, others, or the environment.
