Directions and Transportation Guide to Downtown Madison

Textbooks

The Downtown Education Center Bookstore stocks required textbooks and supplies for classes held at the Downtown location, the South Madison Community Campus, Continuing Education courses, and College Preparedness and Academic Advancement Center (CPAAC) programs. The DTEC Bookstore also sells duplicated guides and packets designed by the instructors. The staff at the Downtown location will be happy to order whatever merchandise you may need that you don't find in the store.

All of the books that are available at the bookstore for DTEC, South campus and Dane County Continuing Education classes are going to be found on the Madison College bookstore website. Please go to www.madisoncollegebookstore.com. Please have your study list available when looking for your book. If you do not have your schedule, please use the title and author listed by your instructor on your syllabus.
 

Alternatively, you may also search for classes at Madison College. Enter the 5-digit class number under “additional search criteria” and click the “Class Details” class number to view specific book and supply information.

Book Buyback

Madison College works with a national used book vendor to offer textbook buyback. During final exams week at the end of each semester (fall and spring), is the best time to sell your books for the best value. Both Truax and Downtown locations offer daily buyback.

Madison College Imprinted Merchandise

Clothing, magnets, cups, and mugs, as well as regular office supplies with the Madison College logo are available.

Gifts

Greeting cards, novelty purses, handbags, and stuffed animals are available for purchase.

Other Products

The bookstore carries a variety of other products like calculators, cassette recorders, instructional study aids like videos and cassettes, pharmaceuticals, dictionaries, CD's, and book bags. The Downtown Bookstore is also your place to purchase Barber and Cosmetology products and art supplies, including clay. 

Services

Madison Metro bus fare tickets and Fare$avers tickets are available for purchase. Information about Madison Metro bus schedules and fares are available by contacting Madison Metro.

Individual stamps, books of stamps, and postage paid envelopes are available.

Book loans are available at Madison College bookstores.

Telephone or fax orders are processed with a credit or debit card only. An $8.50 shipping charge will be added. Materials that are in stock will be shipped out by the next business day. Purchases phoned or faxed can be picked up by the next business day at the bookstore.  After hours pick-up is at the Downtown Enrollment and Information Center in Room D117. Payment by cash, VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card, OneCard or personal check with pre-printed address are accepted.
