    Local Anesthetic Certification

This course will provide the dental hygienist with the necessary classroom and clinical experience to become certified to administer local anesthetic in the dental office. (Some states, such as IL, also require our online prep course). Topics covered are anatomy, landmarks and techniques. Participants will required to give multiple injections on each other. If a participant is pregnant, breast feeding or cannot receive injections for any other reason, they will be required to bring someone along to practice on. Evidence of current CPR and state licensure is required. No refreshments are provided. Contact 608-258-2301 if you have any questions.

Online Prep for Local Anesthetic Certification

This is a 14-hour online preparation for the Local Anesthetic Certification class, specially designed to meet the requirements of Illinois and other states. It is not required for Wisconsin or Minnesota residents, but is a good preparation for those whose background is no longer current. Course will consist of topics such as pharmacology of local anesthetics, anatomy/neuroanatomy, physiology and record keeping. Participants who need more than 21 hours will need to register for this class along with the face to face certification class. Evidence of current CPR and state licensure is required.
