The Clarion, MATC's award-winning student newspaper, has openings for writers, photographers and advertising sales representatives.

Students participate in The Clarion for a variety of reasons. Some want to compile a portfolio of writing or artwork samples to show to prospective employers. Others want to improve their writing or artistic skills. Whatever your reason, we'll be happy to work with you to help you achieve your personal goals.

Any MATC student is eligible to participate on The Clarion staff. Students who are enrolled in six or more credits may be eligible to receive payment for their work. Clarion editors receive $300 for each semester of work, while writers and photographers receive $10 per assignment.

Last year, The Clarion received 22 state, regional and national awards. The highlight of the year was winning the Associated Collegiate Press "Best of Show" award for two-year newspapers at the groups national convention in Nashville.

For more information or to apply for a staff position, visit The Clarion office at Truax Room 130 or contact advisor Doug Kirchberg at (608) 246-6576.
