An electronic resource for The Clarion staff
The goal of the advisor's corner is to provide a quick resource you can use all hours of the day to answer some of the basic questions you might encounter while working as a staff member of The Clarion.
Some of the topics addressed in this site include:
- Writing for The Clarion. This includes the basics of reporting, the writing process, and writing tips.
- Quick Guides to Media Law. This includes libel, copyright, obscenity, and privacy.
- Legal Resources. In addition to listing Wisconsin's open records law and open meetings law, we provide links to other web resources available to you such as the Student Press Law Center and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association.
Ultimately, we hope to expand the site to include a staff training manual and online workshops.
