SMALL FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSIONS

BRAINSTORMING:

¨      The more ideas, the better!

¨      Discuss ideas

¨      Keep your mind open to ALL ideas, both your own and others.

¨      Do not judge your brainstormed ideas (good or bad)

¨      It’s acceptable to repeat ideas

¨      It’s acceptable to “piggyback” off someone else’s idea

¨      Wait for the silence to end; the greatest creativity follows

¨      Throughout the whole process, make sure that EVERYONE is encouraged to participate and that everyone’s input is treated with respect.  Remember that everyone has something to contribute.

¨      Assure that everyone is able to participate - no one dominating, no one excluded
