The 2nd annual SoTL Commons Conference:  An International Conference for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning will be held on March 11-13, 2009 at
Georgia Southern University (Statesboro, Georgia, USA): http://academics.georgiasouthern.edu/ijsotl/conference/2009/index.htm.  Early registration is now open and
the online submission of proposals period is August 15 - October 15, 2008
 
Keynote speakers will be Randy Bass (Georgetown University), Kathy Takayama (Brown University), and Laurie Richlin (Charles Drew University of Medicine and Health Science).

E-Learning and Online Teaching Graduate Certificate

A five-course graduate certificate on the strategies and techniques of e-learning and teaching online. The courses are completely online; no travel to campus required.

The courses model best practices in e-learning with interactive discussions and hands-on experiences creating and using blogs, wikis, podcasts, D2L and Moodle.

All courses are three graduate credits. The rec­ommended course sequence is:

Course 1: EDUC 760 E-Learning for Educators
Course 2:
EDUC 762 Assessment in E-Learning
Course 3:
EDUC 763 Instructional Design for E-Learning
Course 4:
EDUC 761 Creating Collaborative Communities E-Learning
Course 5:
EDUC 764 E-Learning Practicum

The courses will benefit educators and trainers interested in designing online and blended courses or using Web-based components to enhance face-to-face instruction.

Any of the individual courses included as a part of the certificate sequence may be completed as a single course for professional development.

All four courses and the practicum must be completed to receive the Certificate in E-Learning and Online Teaching.

The graduate certificate in e-learning also may be used to fulfill the concentration requirement in UW-Stout's online Master of Science in Education degree program or as electives in the Master of Science degree in Career and Technical Education and Ed.S. degree in Career and Technical Education.
