Meet Trina, Administrative Assistant Graduate

Trina finished up her Administrative Assistant Degree in one year thanks to hard work, a little summer school and transfer credits. A busy single mom, she says being organized is key.

“I color coordinated my classes, writing down my assignment due dates — sometimes making it earlier than the actual date to ensure I got it done — and when I did the assignment, I’d circle it. I had a set of highlighters, a pen, a syllabus and my calendar — I became known for my calendar!”

Despite her hard work and 4.0 grade average, it took her by surprise when she was received the Madison College Learner of the Year Award.

“An instructor snuck it in on me. This was my third attempt at college, but this time I started and finished. And, for the first time in my life I made the Dean’s List. Now I’m ready to work on my bachelor’s degree and then go on for my masters.”
