What is a Madison Metro Bus Pass?
The Bus Pass is your ticket to ride Madison Metro buses when you are enrolled at Madison Area Technical College, with the exception of Routes 80, 81, 82 and all Metro Special Event Shuttles. A new Metro Bus Pass is needed each fall and spring semester and summer session. You will need to show BOTH your OneCard and your Bus Pass to ride Madison Metro Buses.
What do I need to get a Bus Pass?
In order to receive a Madison Metro Bus Pass, you must: 1) Have a valid Madison College OneCard. 2) Be enrolled in at least one degree credit course (the sixth digit of the catalog number is a 1, 2, 3, or 5. Note that non-degree students (non-degree courses are also determined by the sixth digit of the catalog number which must be 4, 6, 7) may be able to purchase a bus pass at a nominal rate.
Bus Passes issued by Madison Area Technical College are not transferable, nor redeemable for cash. Lost, stolen, or confiscated bus passes will not be replaced. Bus passes are valid for use in the current semester only. Dates of use are printed on the front of the bus pass. Card activation/deactivation is based on enrollment status.

Who pays for the Madison Metro service?
To pay for the Metro Bus Ridership Program, a fee of $25 per semester ($15 for summer) is assessed to every degree-credit student at Madison-based campuses. The bus program was established in the January 2000 by a student referendum. The Student Senate is responsible for negotiating a contract with Madison Metro.

Common Metro Bus Routes used by Madison College students
All of these buses go to Madison College Commercial Avenue: 4, 27, 29, 56 & 57.
All of these buses go to downtown Madison: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 14, 15, 19, 25, 27, 28, 29, 47, 56, 57, 58, 60, 61, 65 & 81.
All of these buses go to Madison College Truax: 6, 20 & 34.
To get to the Downtown Campus from Commercial Avenue, take bus 4, 27, 29, 56 or 57 to the Capitol Square in downtown Madison.
To get the Commercial Avenue Campus from the Capitol Square in downtown Madison, take bus 4, 27, 29, 56 or 57 to Madison College Commercial Avenue
To get to the Commercia Avenue Campus from Truax, take bus No. 20 from the bus shelter on Wright Street to the North Transfer Point and take bus No. 4 to Madison College Commercial Avenue.
To get to the Truax Campus from Commercial Avenue, take bus No. 4 to the North Transfer Point and take bus No. 20 to Madison College Truax.
To get the Downtown Campus from Madison College Truax, take bus No. 6 from the bus shelter on Wright Street to the Capitol Square in downtown Madison.
To get to the Truax Campus from the Capitol Square in downtown Madison, take bus No. 6.
