How much is the tuition?

The approximate tuition for the first semester is $3230, the second semester is $2065, the third semester is $1355.

What are the additional fees?

There is a barber/cosmetology club fee of $20, which is not required.

Milady's Standard is $28.00, which is a state exam review book and is not required.

NCA Membership is $75. This is an optional fee.

What's in the kit, and how much is it?

The barber/cosmetology kit includes all equipment and supplies needed to complete this program, which includes shears, rollers, perm rods, irons, brushes, combs, and five mannequins. The price of the barber/cosmetology kit is approximately $1200.

The nail kit includes files, clippers, acrylic supplies, nail tips and more. The nail kit is approximately $300.

You will need to purchase both of these kits.

How long is the program?

The program is 1800 hours and takes one full year to complete. Two 18 week semesters and one 12 week semester. The program follows the college calender with semester and spring breaks. Refer to the college calender for specific dates.

What time are classes offered?

Classes are offered Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Does MATC have a part time program?

At this time, MATC does not offer a part time Barber/Cosmetology program. The Nail Technician program is offered four evenings per week, Monday through Thursday from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Do we have any time off during the year of the program?

The cosmetology program has all of same school breaks that MATC offeres.

How is the program delivered?

Five days per week and 40 hours per week.

Is there a waiting list?

Each year the waiting list varies. The best advice is to send in your application as soon as you have made your decision.

What are the requirements for graduation?

You are required to complete 52 credits with a grade point average of 2.0 (C) or above. You must also have a grade point average of 2.0 (C) or above in specific occupational courses.
