Soccer Player Named All-American
Posted 11-21-05 - Sam Marlette,
a former Sauk Prairie H.S. athlete, became the fourth
soccer player in Madison Area Technical College history
and the third in the last three years to receive All-American
honors. Marlette, a second year defensemen for MATC,
was selected second team NJCAA
Division III All-American for his play during the 2005 season.
In addition to All-American honors, Marlette received all-conference,
all-state and all-region honors this season while helping the
WolfPack to a 13-8-1 overall record. The team also won conference
and NJCAA Region XIII titles this season.
MATC Comes Up Short in District Finals
Posted 11-9-05 - Just as it happened two years ago, MATC was defeated Saturday by Richland College (TX) in the NJCAA District Two Championship game, denying the Wolfpack their first appearance at nationals. MATC managed only four shots on goal in the 0-3 loss, and goalie Jared Kuehl allowed three goals on eight shots he faced against a quick, potent Richland offense. The Wolfpack conclude their season with a 13-8-1 overall record, including a 6-1 WJCAA record, and a 2-0 record in WTCC games.
MATC Now One Win Away From Nationals
Posted 11-4-05 - Bryan Ross, MATC's season leader in goals and assists, came through again for the WolfPack in a big way Friday afternoon, scoring the lone goal of the match in the second half vs. Columbus State Community College (OH), propelling MATC to the NJCAA District Two Championship game and positioning the WolfPack one win away from their first-ever appearance at nationals.
The Championship game will be held on Sat., Nov. 5th at 12:00 PM at the MATC soccer complex. MATC will play the winner of Friday's semifinal match between Harper College (IL) and Richland College (TX) for a chance to play in the NJCAA Soccer Championship Tournament in Herkimer NY, Nov. 12-13.
MATC Advances to NJCAA District Semis
Posted 10-31-05 - MATC Soccer advanced past Milwaukee Area Technical College to the semifinal round of the NJCAA District Two Soccer Championship Tournament. MATC is now set to face Columbus State Community College (OH) on Friday, November 4th. The winner of the tournament automatically advances to the NJCAA Soccer Championship Tournament, held in Herkimer, NY, on Nov. 12-13. The semifinal pairings are as follows:

Semifinal Overtime
Posted 10-19-05 - MATC Soccer lost
2-3 in overtime to host UW-Waukesha. MATC tied the game 2-2
in the 87th minute to send the game into overtime. Five minutes
into overtime UW-Waukesha scored their third goal of the game
to win 2-3. Chad Kubly and Bryan Ross each had a goal a piece
in the loss. Jared Kuehl allowed three goals on seven shots
on goal.
Offensive Outburst Nets Two MATC Wins
Posted 10-17-05 - MATC unleashed a barage of shots, 53 total, in a 6-0 road win against UW-Fond du Lac on Thursday, and then defeated Triton College Saturday in Madison, 7-1. Everyone got involved in the two-game scoring spree. Jose Mora scored three goals, while Bryan Ross, Brian Kohlman and Chris Huemmer each pitched in a pair of assists against UW-Fond du Lac. Also scoring goals were Ross, and Nate Haville and Huemmer.
Leading 2-0 at halftime versus Triton College, MATC added five more goals in the second stanza as they cruised towards another win. Haville scored three goals and Ross contributed two more. Sam Marlette recorded a goal and an assist, and Huemmer netted a goal and two assists for the WolfPack. Jared Kuehl made nine saves in the two wins, moving MATC to 11-6-1 overall.
WolfPack Add Another Victory
Posted 10-12-05 - Fresh off claiming their seventh consecutive conference title, MATC scored two first-half goals in a home win over Loras College JV, 2-0. WolfPack forward Brian Ross netted the game's first goal, upping his team-best goals scored total to 11 on the season. Jose Mora added another goal for the WolfPack. Sam Marlette, Grant Fischer and Nate Haville contributed assists and Jared Kuehl stopped three shots in the shutout.
MATC Claims Conference Title With
Win
Posted 10-8-05 - MATC Soccer claimed
their seventh conference title in the last eight years with
a 4-0 win over Milwaukee Area Technical College. The win was
WolfPack Soccer's second win of the season over the Stormers.
The WolfPack beat MATC-Milwaukee 10-0 back on September 17th.
The WolfPack received two goals from first year forward Bryan
Ross, a former Monona Grove H.S. athlete. The two goals was
Ross' third multi-goal game of the season. Chad Kubly pitched
in with two assists and Jared Kuehl allowed no goals and made
two saves.
MATC Held Scoreless at Home
Posted 10-5-05 - MATC surrendered
a goal in each half, falling at home to Kishwaukee College,
0-2. MATC Goalie, Jared Kuehl recorded six saves for the
WolfPack who managed only four shots on goal. The loss drops
MATC to 7-6-1 overall.
MATC Beats UW-Washington in 2nd
Half
Posted 9-30-05 - MATC beat the visiting
UW-Washington Wildcats 4-2 on three second half goals. Bryan
Ross led the way for the WolfPack as he scored three goals
including the game winner. Grant Fischer added two assists
in the win. MATC improved its record against state junior college
competition to 4-0 and their overall record to 7-5-1.

Soccer Loses Two Against MN Schools
Posted 9-25-05 - MATC lost two games
versus Minnesota four-year school JV teams over the weekend.
In the first game, MATC was shutout and lost 0-3 to St. Olaf
College JV in Northfield, MN. In the second game, MATC fell
behind 3-0 before Brian Kohlman scored a penalty kick goal.
Macalester JV tacked on two more goals in the second half,
downing MATC 5-1.
MATC Wins Fourth Straight Game
Posted 9-20-05 - MATC won their
fourth straight game to put their record at 5-3-1. Second
year MATC Midfielder, Grant Fischer scored two goals to lead
MATC past the Concordia Varsity Reserve. Four other players
scored and Jared Kuehl had five saves in the win.
MATC Wins Big in First Conference
Game
Posted 9-17-05 - The WolfPack Soccer
team wasted no time flexing it muscle in their first conference
game of the season. The WolfPack scored ten goals and only
allowed one shot on goal in their 10-0 victory. Chris Huemmer
scored three goals adding to his three game goal scoring streak.
During the three game streak, he has scored an impressive six
goals. Brian Kohlman also added two goals in the rout.
MATC Tallies Up Goals in WJCAA Win
Posted 9-12-05 - MATC tallied ten
goals in a 10-0 rout of WJCAA opponent, UW-Richland. Ryan Huemmer
and Bryan Walsh each had two goals a piece and six others added
a goal in the win. Jared Kuehl turned away three shots on goal.
MATC Wins, Loses at Home
Posted 9-10-05 - MATC won one and
lost one. In their September 9th home game versus Dakota
County Technical College, MATC only managed one goal and
allowed two in a 1-2 loss. Nate Haville scored his first
game of the season.
In the second game on September 10th, MATC got two goals from
Kalifa Bah and another from second year midfielder, Chris Huemmer
to win 3-2 against North Iowa Area Community College.
MATC Wins Against UW-Whitewater
Varsity Reserves
Posted 9-6-05 - MATC claimed their
first win of the season as they won 2-1 against the UW-Whitewater
Varsity Reserves. MATC got goals from Chad Kubly and Ryan Huemmer.
It was Chad Kubly's fourth goal in the last two games. Jared
Kuehl and Nate Haville combined for nine saves in goal.
MATC Ties, Loses in Dakota Tournament
Posted 9-4-05 - MATC lost one and
tied one in their season opening tournament in Apple Valley,
MN. In the their first game of the Dakota County Tournament
versus Neosho County, MATC tied 2-2. Brian Walsh and Bryan
Ross each got goals in the second half.
In the second game of the tournament, MATC played College
of Lake County. College of Lake County jumped out to a 2-1
lead at half and added two more goals in the second half to
win 4-3. MATC second year midfielder, Chad Kubly scored three
goals on three Bryan Ross assists to try to keep MATC in the
game.
MATC Loses Tight Game to McHenry
CC
Posted 8-30-05 - MATC hosted
the season opener versus a talented McHenry County College
team. McHenry got on the board early scoring a goal at
28:20. They continued to put pressure on MATC throughout
the game as MATC goltender Jared Kuehl turned away ten
shots. MATC's offensive could only put three shots on goal
and lost 0-1.

Named All-American

a former Waunakee H.S. athlete, became the third soccer
player in Madison Area Technical College history to receive
all-american honors. Klapatch, a second year defensemen
for MATC, was selected second team all-american for his
