Vossekuil Named All-American

year MATC Women's Basketball player, Katie Vossekuil was named
NJCAA Division III Second Team All-American. Vossekuil, a former
Central Wisconsin Christian H.S. standout, is the fourth All-American
in MATC Women's Basketball history. Vossekuil helped lead the
WolfPack to the national tournament this season as she averaged
almost 15 points and 10 rebounds a game. She recorded 15 double-doubles
this season. Vossekuil is the second women's basketball player
in the last two years to receive this honor. Congratulations,

Claims 4th Place Finish at Nationals
Posted 3-19-05 - The MATC Women
won their final game of the season to claim fourth place
at the 2005 NJCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. The MATC
Women won the game by forfeit. The following is a statement from the NJCAA: Due to disciplinary
reasons, Montgomery County (Rockville, MD), MATC's opponent
in the fourth place game at the NJCAA National Tournament,
has withdrawn from the tournament per institutional sanctions. MATC's final record is 23-8 with a fourth place National Tournament
finish. Additionally, MATC received the tournament sportsmanship
award. Congratulations to the WolfPack Women. MATC
Wins Second Game at Nationals
Posted 3-17-05 - The MATC Women
won their second game of the 2005 NJCAA Division III National
Tournament. MATC beat Bunker Hill CC, 79-54. Katie Vossekuil
led all scorers with 20 points and pulled down 16 rebounds.
Three other players were in double-figures for the WolfPack.
With the win, MATC will play for fourth place against Montgomery-Rockville
on Saturday at 3:00 PM. MATC
Loses Close Game at Nationals
Posted 3-17-05 - The MATC Women
faced Mohawk Valley CC in the first round of the 2005 NJCAA
Division III National Tournament. MATC started the game on
a roll but cooled off before half as they trailed by nine
points. In the second half, MATC closed the gap but could
not get all the way back as they lost 56-58. Katie Vossekuil
had a double-double as she scored 14 points and pulled down
17 rebounds. With the loss MATC plays Bunker Hill CC at 3:00
PM on Friday.

Women Win, Advance to National Tournament in Corning
Posted 3-5-05 - The MATC Women
traveled a long way to get a big win. The MATC Women played
Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, MN and played
them well. Despite trailing by 12 points in the first half
the Women battled back and led by 21 points at one point
in the second half. MATC was led by former Madison Memorial
H.S. athlete, Kim Joshua's 18 points as they posted a 80-69
win. Katie Vossekuil also pitched in with her thirteenth
double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and pulling
down 17 rebounds.
With the win, MATC advances to the NJCAA Division
III National Tournament in Corning, NY for the second
time in the last four years and the third time in program

(NJCAA) Region XIII-B
Game on Friday,
March 4th. The MATC Women (20-7) are playing Itasca Community College
in Grand Rapids, MN for the right to advance to the national
tournament in Corning, NY. MATC claimed national runners-up
in 2003. MATC Women Lose in State Semifinals
Posted 2-26-05 - Despite first
half shooting of just 33% the WolfPack Women carried a 40-30
lead into halftime. But in the second half the cold shooting
continued and they struggled to make some key defensive stops
down the stretch as they were outscored 45-34 in the second
half. The strong second half proved to much for the WolfPack
as they fell 74-75 to the Waukesha County Technical College
Owls in the WJCAA State Semifinals. Katie Vossekuil led all
scorers for the WolfPack with 23 points and 13 rebounds.
Lauren Lanza added 15 points and Cassie Paulsen added a double-double,
13 points and 17 rebounds in the loss. MATC
Women Cruise to Victory, Advance
Posted 2-23-05 - The MATC Women got out
to a 39-28 halftime lead and never looked back as they cruised
to a 71-46 win over the visiting UW-Richland Roadrunners. Erin
Voelker, a former Portage H.S. athlete, led MATC with 13 points
and 9 rebounds. Cassie Paulsen pitched in 11 points along with
10 points from Missie Karls and Katie Vossekuil. Lauren Lanza
did it all as she had 2 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 blocks
and 2 steals on the night. With the win, MATC advances to the
WJCAA State Tournament. MATC
Routs Visiting Lady Cavaliers
Posted 2-16-05 - The MATC Women routed
the visiting Lady Cavaliers, 100-40 as the host WolfPack jumped
out to a 61-21 halftime lead and never looked back. With the
win, MATC advances to the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament, March
4-5 in Minnesota (winner of the Region Tournament advances to
the National Championship). MATC was led by four players in double-figures
including Kim Joshua, Katie Vossekuil, Erin Voelker, and Tiffany
Bingham. Nancy Pearson pulled down a game high 15 rebounds including
11 offensive boards. MATC improved to 19-6 overall. Jessica

Women Lose to College of DuPage
Posted 2-10-05 - The MATC Women lost
in their final regular season game of the year, 54-66, to the
College of DuPage Chapparrals in Glen Ellyn, IL. Katie Vossekuil
led MATC in scoring for the sixth straight game scoring 16 points
and pulling down 13 rebounds. In the last ten games of the season,
Vossekuil recorded eight double-doubles. The MATC Women finished
the regular season with an 18-6 overall record. MATC
Women Win Third Straight Title
Posted 2-9-05 - The MATC Women won their
fourth straight conference game to claim the program's third
straight Wisconsin Technical College Conference title with an
86-73 win over Waukesha County Technical College in Waukesha.
Katie Vossekuil led MATC in scoring for the fifth straight game
scoring 22 points and pulling down 15 rebounds for her ninth
double-double. Erin Voelker also added a double-double with 20
points and 12 rebounds. Kim Joshua had 17 points and 6 rebounds
and Lauren Lanza tallied 13 points and 6 assists as the MATC

Women Win Fifth Straight
Posted 2-2-05 - The MATC Women, led by
Katie Vossekuil's season high 26 point and season high 17 rebound
double-double beat the visiting Ripon College JV Red Hawks, 87-63.
Erin Voelker, Erin Blasco, Jessica Perkins and Kim Joshua all
scored in double-figures coming off the bench. MATC improved
to 17-5 overall and are currently riding a five game winning

Cruise to Win Over UW-Marathon
Posted 1-31-05 - The MATC Women had four
players in double-figures as they cruised to a 86-38 win over
UW-Marathon at home. Erin Voelker and Katie Vossekuil each had
16 points while Michelle Krueger and Missie Karls had 13 and
10 respectively. MATC shot over 92% from the free throw line
and over 50% from the field to claim their fourth straight win. MATC
Women Beat Silver Lake College
Posted 1-29-05 - The MATC Women won their
third straight game as the beat four-year Silver Lake College,
73-48. Katie Vossekuil had her third straight double-double with
16 points and 11 rebounds. Erin Voelker added 10 points as the
WolfPack Women improved to 15-5 on the season. MATC
Extends Conference Record to 3-0
Posted 1-26-05 - The MATC Women cruised
to a 79-59 win over, conference opponent, Western WI Technical
College, as centers, Katie Vossekuil and Erina Voelker each
recorded double-doubles. Katie Vossekuil had 21 points and
11 rebounds to record her fourth double-double in the last
five games. Portage H.S. athlete, Erin Voelker had 18 points
and pulled down 12 rebounds. The win pushed the WolfPack Women
to 3-0 and first place in the conference. MATC
Women Rout UW-Richland
Posted 1-25-05 - MATC posted their highest
point total of the year in a 99-58 rout of UW-Richland in Richland
Center, WI. Five players were in double-figures led by Cassie
Paulsen's 21 points. Katie Vossekuil posted her third double-double
in the last four games as she scored 20 points and pulled down
11 rebounds. The WolfPack Women improved to 13-5 overall on the

Lose to State Rival, UW-Waukesha
Posted 1-19-05 - MATC fell a little short
in a hard fought game matching up the top two junior college
women's basketball teams in the state. The MATC Women could not
overcome hot shooting in the second half by the host Owls who
outscored the WolfPack 48-39 down the stretch. UW-Waukesha, who
is 14-2 overall, won 88-78, to hand the WolfPack their first
state junior college loss. Four WolfPack players were in double-figures
led by Kate Vossekuil's 17 point and 8 rebound effort. Cassie
Paulsen added a double-double by scoring 14 points and pulling
down 11 rebounds. The WolfPack Women are now 12-5 overall. MATC
Women Rout the Owls
Posted 1-12-05 - The
MATC Women forced 38 turnovers at they cruised to a 86-38
win. Five WolfPack players were in double-figures led
by Katie Vossekuil's 14 point, 15 rebounds, and 7 steal
effort. Vossekuil recorded her second straight double-double.
Erin Voelker also added a double-double with 11 points
and 10 rebounds. MATC is now 2-0 in the conference. MATC
Women Beat Division I Highland
Posted 1-8-05 - In
a rescheduled game from January 6th, MATC outscored the
visiting NJCAA Division I Highland CC Cougars 49-29 in
the second half to blow open the game and win 73-60.
Lauren Lanza, a former Wauwatosa H.S. athlete, led all
scorers with 20 points. Cassie Paulsen added 17 points
and 6 rebounds while Katie Vossekuil recorded her fourth
double-double for the season scoring 14 points and pulling
down 11 rebounds. MATC
Women Beat Conference Foe
Posted 1-8-05 - The
MATC Women beat Western WI Technical College in a high
scoring conference game, 88-83 to claim their first conference
victory of the season. The team is currently 4-0 against
state junior college competition. Katie Vossekuil had
a career-high 25 points to lead the WolfPack. Cassie
Paulsen and Erin Voelker each scored in double-figures
with 18 and 12, respectively. MATC
Takes One of Two Versus Gogebic
Posted 12-18-04 - The MATC Women won
one of two games versus Gogebic Community College. In
the first game, MATC jumped out to an early 36-33 halftime
lead. The team held on in the second half as Erin Blasco's
free throw with 9 seconds left put the game away. MATC
won 67-63. MATC was led by Cassie Paulsen's 17 points.
Erin Voelker pitched in 14 points and Katie Vossekuil
recorded her second double-double of the season, scoring
12 points and pulling down an impressive 16 rebounds. In the second game, MATC once again faced Gogebic.
This time after MATC's halftime lead the Samson's stormed back,
outscoring the WolfPack 43-32 in the second half. MATC lost
58-67. Katie Vossekuil recorded her second straight double-double
with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Lauren Lanza led MATC with
17 points on 5-for-8 shooting from beyond the arc. MATC

Fall to NJCAA Division I Team
Posted 12-7-04 - The MATC Women played
tough against NJCAA Division I, Olive Harvey College
(Chicago, IL) but could get rebounds down the stretch,
as they were outrebounded 58-41 for the game. MATC
lost at home, 71-77. Katie Vossekuil led the WolfPack
with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Chelsi Mersberger
(15 pts.) and Kim Joshua (13 pts.) each scored in double-figures
and pulled down seven rebounds in MATC's first loss

Women Continue to Roll
Posted 12-4-04 - The MATC Women won
their sixth straight game on Saturday with a 80-57 thrashing
of Rock Valley College. The WolfPack sprinted out to
a 45-33 halftime lead on 4-for-4 shooting from beyond
the arc. MATC finished them off in the second half as
Chelsi Mersberger led all scorers with 18 points. Erin
Voelker added 10 ponts and seven rebounds. MATC
Women Win Fifth Straight
Posted 12-2-04 - The MATC Women won
their fifth straight game against NJCAA Division II Kishwaukee
College in Malta, IL. The WolfPack jumped out to a 40-34
halftime lead and then extended the lead in the second
half. Chelsi Mersberger, a former Stoughton H.S. athlete,
led all scorers with 29 points and 5 steals. Katie Vossekuil
recorded her seasons first double-double, scoring 10
points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Missie Karls added

Routs the Visiting Wombats
Posted 11-30-04 - The MATC Women got
off to a fast start and never looked back as they beat
the visiting Wombats, 81-48. MATC's defense helped force
43 UW-Sheboygan turnovers. Katie Vossekuil led MATC as
she poured in 17 points and pulled down five rebounds.
Former Madison Memorial H.S. athlete, Kim Joshua, contributed
in many areas as she scored 10 points, grabbed seven
rebounds, five assists, and six steals. Chelsi Mersberger

game against Sauk Valley CC to improve to 4-2. Chelsi
Mersberger, a former Stoughton H.S. athlete, led the
way for the WolfPack as she poured in 20 points and dished

Women Beat Gogebic, Place Third
Posted 11-15-04 - Chelsi Mersberger, a
former Stoughton H.S. athlete, poured in 26 points but
the host WolfPack struggled shooting in their first game
of the 2004 WolfPack Classic. The MATC Women lost 67-80
to Rochester. In the third place game against Gogebic CC, MATC jumped
out to a 46-28 halftime lead and never looked back as
they won 76-68 behind Chelsi Mersberger's impressive, game

Women Win One, Lose One
Posted 11-6-04 - The MATC Women beat Illinois
Valley CC 63-53 and lost to NJCAA Division II Carl Sandburg,
58-86 at the Waubonsee CC Tournament.
In the first game, MATC was led by former Stoughton H.S.
athlete, Chelsi Mersberger's 18 point performance. Katie
Vosseuil added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the 63-53 win. In the championship game, MATC jumped out to a 32-27 halftime
lead. In the second half, MATC saw their lead disappear as
the NJCAA Division II power, Carl Sandburg, posted 41 points
to win 68-58, handing the WolfPack their first loss of the

Basketball Player Recieves Academic All-American Honor

Davis, a first year Madison Area Technical College Women’s
Basketball player, was recently selected NJCAA Academic All-American.
Davis, a 5-11 center from Sheboygan South H.S., also received
Wisconsin Technical College Conference distinguished academic

Basketball Signs Players to National Letter of Intents

Women’s Basketball coach, Steve Bentin, has signed
the following players to a NJCAA national letter of intent
for the 2004-05 season: Erin Voelker,
a 6’2” center
from Portage H.S., led her team in scoring and selected honorable
mention Badger North all-conference. Lauren Lanza,
a 5’9” guard from Wauwatosa East H.S., was a
first team All-Greater Metro conference selection. Jenny Dancker,
a 5’11” forward/center
from McFarland H.S., was a first team Badger South all-conference
player during the 2002-03 season. Kim Joshua,
a 5’6” guard from Madison Memorial H.S.,
was an honorable mention Big Eight all-conference player. Michelle Krueger,
a 5’9” guard
from Montello H.S., was a first team all-conference selection
in the Trailways North. Cassie Bobholz,
a 5’11” center
from Cambria-Friesland H.S., was a class valedictorian and
first team Trailways North all-conference selection. Cassie Paulsen,

from River Valley H.S., was a first team SWAL all-conference
honoree.

Women Lose in Region XIII-A Title Game
Posted 3-5-04 - The MATC Women
hung tough against a quick Minneapolis team only trailing
by two points at halftime. The Minneapolis quickness
proved too much in the second half as the visiting Marauders
blocked 7 shots and forced 14 steals. MATC fell 61-73.
Jody Henze had her fourth postseason double-double scoring
22 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. With the win, Minneapolis
advances to the 2004 NJCAA Division III National Tournament
in Corning, NY. |
