WolfPack wins 7th straight State Champioship

MATC was down by eight strokes to UW-Waukesha heading into the second round on Monday of the state championship.  The second round was a completely different story for the Pack. They torched the Bridges Golf Course with a final round combined score of 309, 18 strokes better than the first round to take home the gold at state.

The leading scorer for MATC was Andrew Zganjar who shot a 73.  Troy Kleinert  and Eric Knapp each shot a 79, Josh Pantel shot a 78, and Alex Amend came into the clubhouse with an 88. 

The two-day combined score for the WolfPack was 636, UW-Waukesha came in second with a 642, and Southwest Tech. came in third with a 670.

MATC in second after first round of State

Posted 10-7-07 - MATC found themselves in second place after the first round of the State Championship at the Bridges Golf Course in Madison on Saturday.  As a team, they shot a combined 327 second best to UW-Waukesha's 319.

Andrew Zganjar led the way for the WolfPack with a 74.  Troy Kleinert shot an 78, Eric Knapp shot an 86, and Alex Amend rounded out the scoring with an 89.

MATC will enter the second round of the State Championship eight strokes behind UW-Waukesha.

MATC Qualifies for Tourney, Places Second
Posted 10-3-07 - Madison Area Technical College finished second at the NJCAA Region XIII Meet in Brainerd, MN. The second place finish is the fourth top two finish in the last five years for the WolfPack golf team.

This year MATC fired a 329 on a very tough first day of the tournament. MATC headed into the second day ten strokes out of first. During the second day, MATC closed the gap to within 5 strokes by shooting a 318. The WolfPack finished with a two-day total of 657, falling to Central Lakes College. Both MATC and Central Lakes College advance to the NJCAA Tournament on June 3-6, 2008 in Chautauqua, NY.

MATC was led by Troy Kleinert who shot two-day total (80-74) 154 to take medalist honors.

MATC Wins Second Straight Invitational
Posted 9-28-07 - MATC golfers claimed their second consecutive invitational victory as the team shot a 311 to win the Southwest Wisconsin Technical College Invitational at the Prairie du Chien Golf Course in Prairie du Chien, WI.

MATC was led by three players shooting under 80 including Troy Kleinert (74), Andrew Verhelst (77), and Eric Knapp (79).

MATC Claims UW-Washington County Invite
Posted 9-24-07 - The MATC Golf team won the UW-Washington County Invitational in Hartford, WI, by eight strokes.

The WolfPack shot an 18-hole score of 324. Troy Kleinert led all WolfPack golfers with a second place finish and a six over par 78. Eric Knapp and Andrew Verhelst each shot a 81 to help MATC claim its second invitational win of the season.

MATC Golfers Finish Tenth at Edgewood Invite
Posted 9-17-07 - The MATC Golf team finished tenth out of twenty teams at the Edgewood Fall Classic on Sept. 16-17. As a team MATC shot a 18-hole team total of 317 on the first day and a 338 on the second day. Troy Kleinert (80-78) finished eighteenth with a 36-hole total of 158 to lead all WolfPack golfers.

MATC Finshes Second at Milwaukee Invite
Posted 9-15-07 - The MATC Golf team finished second out of six teams at the Milwaukee Area Technical College Invitational at the Brown Deer Golf Course in Milwaukee, WI. Josh Pantel and Tim LaRock led the way for the WolfPack as each shot 81 on the 18-hole course. The team finished second with a 337, three strokes behind Carthage College.

WolfPack Golfers Claim MATC Invite Victory
Posted 9-13-07 - The MATC Golf team claimed their first invitational title of the season by shooting a 18-hole team total of 315. MATC Golfers took the top three spots as Tim LaRock (76) placed first , Troy Kleinert (77) finished second and Josh Pantel (78) placed third in the six-team invitational.

MATC Golfers Place Fifth at DuPage Classic
Posted 9-7-07 - The WolfPack golfers placed fifth out of thirteen teams at the DuPage Classic in Romeoville, IL. MATC shot a team score of 324. Eric Knapp led all WolfPack golfers with a 18-hole score of a 78 while Troy Kleinert shot an 80.
