Vesterdahl
started coaching the MATC Men's Basketball program again
during the 2004-05 season. This past season, he directed the WolfPack
to a 25-7 overall record, including a 17-1 WJCAA record, as MATC went on to win their first conference title since 2005, and their second consecutive state title. His 2007-08 team fell just short of their ultimate goal of a National Tournament birth, losing to Central Lakes in the semifinals of the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament. While under Vesterdhal's guidance, MATC has amassed a 147-72 overall record.
Before returning to MATC in the 2004-05 season, he coached at Stoughton High
School for three seasons. Prior to Stoughton, Vesterdahl was
a two-time WJCAA Coach-of-the-Year at MATC. From 1997-99, his
teams combined for a 60-29 overall record and won two consecutive
state and conference championships.
Coach Vesterdahl was a four-sport athlete
(basketball, football, baseball, track & field) while playing
for Stoughton High School. After graduating from high school
in 1977 he attended college at UW-Stevens Point and Luther
College where he earned letters for baseball and basketball.
In 1982, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with an Exercise
Physiology emphasis from UW-Madison.
Vesterdahl currently lives in Stoughton
with his wife Linda and has two sons, Matt and Kyle. In addition
to his coaching duties, he serves as the Fitness, Health & Recreation
Director at MATC. |

Justin Litscher |

Litscher started coaching
with the MATC Men's Basketball team during the 2004-05 season.
In his first season coaching at MATC he served as a student
assistant coach.
Coach Litscher played two seasons for
the WolfPack basketball team from 2002-2004. During that
span, he earned WTCC academic
all-conference and WJCAA academic all-state honors. Litscher
also served as team captain during his second season.
Prior
to MATC, he was the head freshman basketball coach at Baraboo
High School for one season and two as head varsity assistant.
As an athlete at Baraboo High school, he was a two-sport
letter winner (basketball, tennis). In addition to coaching at MATC, Litscher is employed full-time by the Department of Natural Resources and, also, coaches AAU basketball for the Wisconsin Swing during the summer. |

Tim Shafel |

Shafel started coaching with the MATC Men's Basketball team during the 2006-07 season. Schafel played basketball at MATC during the 2005-06 season after transfering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Coach Shafel played in 30 games for the WolfPack during the 2005-06 season leading the team in three-point shooting percentage. He was second on the team in free-throw percentage and blocked shots while averaging almost eight points per game.
In high school, Schafel attended Madison East H.S. where he was a two-year basketball letterwinner under head coach, Rich Cleveland. In addition to coaching, Shafel is also a student at MATC. |
