What's Up With the Road Construction on Highway 51?
Thu, 07/01/2010 - 10:31 — wbessette
Construction is moving to the Anderson Street intersection and will be affecting nearby businesses. We will continue to have traffic limited to one lane on the southbound lanes on USH 51. The Kinsman intersection will remain fully functional to accommodate traffic and business access. A four-way stop will be installed at the Kinsman and Wright Street intersection. The stop lights will be in a yellow and red flashing condition at the Anderson intersection to moderate traffic flow.
Specific closures at the Anderson intersection are as follows:
Starting Tuesday, July 6 at 9 a.m., the west leg of the Anderson intersection with USH 51 will be closed. The median on USH 51 at the Anderson intersection will also be closed, and all left turns and cross traffic will be prohibited. The only movements permitted will be a right turn onto Anderson from northbound USH 51 and a right turn onto northbound USH 51 from the east leg of Anderson. The closure to the west leg of the Anderson intersection will last approximately one day.
On Wednesday, July 7, the west leg of Anderson Street will be opened. This will permit a right turn onto southbound USH 51 from Anderson and a right turn onto the west leg of Anderson from USH 51, in addition to the previous movements. This will last approximately two weeks.
Thank you and please remember to slow down in work areas for everybody’s safety.
