United Common Ground Looking for Faculty/Staff Involvement

We're currently looking for staff or faculty to help us out in the restructuring of the student organization, United Common Ground (UCG).

UCG mission is to bring awareness to campus regarding multiculturalism, diversity, social/contemporary issues. The organization receives funding from the Student Activities Board (SAB) to help sponsor events, celebrations, speakers, etc. We are revamping the structure of the group and would like to add a "new component".

There is an assigned advisor, however, we would like to get more faculty/staff involvement. We're looking for 2-5 faculty/staff people to volunteer as an "advisory/mentor council" that would give guidance/advice/support to the 5 chair positions of UCG. The time commitment would only be about 3-5 hrs a month, meeting every other week with the chair positions.

The student positions earn a $250-$400 stipend per semester, upon successful completion (please send students our way if you know anyone that would be interested).

The "council" would help the students polish their leadership skills, give guidance on how to plan & coordinate events, successfully network and collaborate with others, etc.
