Teaching With Technology: Camtasia Studio and SnagIt
Date: Friday, February 18
Time: 1-2 p.m.
Place: Truax: 220C (in CETL)
Presenter: Kevin Crow
Topic: Camtasia Studio and SnagIt
Camtasia Studio is an amazing suite of applications from TechSmith that permits users to capture just about anything from their computer screen. If you have ever watched tutorials on your computer that somehow displayed what was happening on the presenter’s screen, you have most likely seen the work of Camtasia. Camtasia is similar to Jing; however, Camtasia offers unlimited screen capturing, audio processing, digital video and audio editing, as well as the ability to render the finished product in a number of sizes and formats.
In this session Kevin Crow will demonstrate how Camtasia can be used to create and edit learning materials from a computer screen, and also to capture live presentations. If time permits, Kevin will also briefly demonstrate Camtaisa’s complementary software application SnagIt.
Teaching With Technology is an informal forum that meets once a month throughout the academic year. Each session covers some topic relating to the integration of technology in the teaching and learning processes.
Participants are also encouraged to use this forum as an opportunity to meet and talk with other individuals who use, or wish to use, technology for teaching and learning.
