Student Email Transition: Online Resources Available

The Madison College student email service will soon be upgraded to Microsoft Outlook Web App (OWA) 2010. The change is scheduled to occur by January 24. To help with the transition, the Madison College librarians have created a website to help answer questions and provide detailed information about the new system.

    Features include:
    - Basic instructions on how to view email, how to manage contact lists, how to use the calendar to schedule appointments, and how to block spam messages.
    - Guidelines for accessing email with mobile devices. Microsoft Outlook Web App supports iPhone, iPad, Windows and Android.
    - Frequently Asked Questions geared toward students and faculty and staff.
    - Guidelines for transitioning to the new system. Students are encouraged to purge any old emails they no longer need, download or save any attachments and messages they want to keep onto another location, or forward emails they want to keep to their new account.

In addition, the Madison College librarians will help students at all campuses transition to the new system by offering workshops for students and staff and one-on-one appointments. The Libraries’ Student Computer Help Desk staff will also be available for on-site assistance or by phone and email.
