Store and Deliver Media? Use iTunes U in Blackboard!

Faculty, staff and students now have access to a new Blackboard Building Block called iTunes U.

    What is iTues U?
iTunes U is an Apple, Inc. sponsored service that gives faculty, students and staff the ability to manage, deliver and control access to educational audio, video and pdf content. This service is available through a Blackboard Learning System building block that can be accessed as one of the Course Tools options. Using this tool, you can deliver types of content such as course lectures, language lessons, lab demonstrations and announcements.

CETL and Technology Services  have collaborated to create support resources and tutorials to get you started.  Check out the Tech Academy to learn about podcasts and keep an eye open for more training opportunities with CETL this fall.

    What you need to know:

    1. Get an iTunes U account for your classes by making a request to the Helpdesk
    2. The iTunes U building block will only function after Technical Support establishes your class accounts on the system.
    3. Tutorials and User Guide are located on the iTunes U website.
    4. Technical questions should be directed to the Helpdesk.
    5. Training questions should be directed to CETL.

This new service is part of our media management plan to efficiently store, manage and distribute media in conjunction with our Blackboard Learning System. Questions, contact adeau[at] matcmadison [dot] edu (Andrea Deau), Academic Technology Manager.
